Why Volunteer with Us
It is estimated today’s society, 1 in 3 marriages end in divorce, this does not include the number of parents co-habiting. Separation and divorce can be extremely stressful, distressing times for parents. Each individual family has its own unique issues and complexities.
Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs adults can do, during a difficult separation it is invaluable the work volunteers do in the child contact centres.
- Children can maintain a relationship with a parent, grandparent or siblings in addition to helping build a stable and consistent routine.
- Parents can build coparenting skills to help them navigate painful separations.
As a volunteer you would continue in our work to provide a supportive caring, impartial environment for all. Providing a safe space for parents to navigate this difficult time, and providing children a safe, neutral, child centred environment to build or continue relationships with parents or other family members.

FAQ’S
Do I need experience?
No, full training is provided. You will also can shadow more experienced volunteers. We ask for volunteers to be non-judgemental, caring and impartial.
What training is provided?
We provide mandatory new volunteer training, introduction to becoming a volunteer, child protection, domestic abuse awareness and health and safety. Following this there is opportunities for further training throughout the year).
How much time do I need to commit?
Each centre varies. Most centres work with your availability. For example, we have some volunteers attend fortnightly, some monthly, and some student volunteers during term time only.
